Katarína Wieczoreková

Katarína Wieczoreková - graduated from the Music Conservatory in Bratislava in the guitar class of Prof. Jozef Zsapka. She studied at the Higher Artistic School in Bratislava, next continued her studies and graduated from the Academy of Music in Katowice (1991) under Prof. Alina Gruszka. She participated in master courses led by Ichiro Suzuki, Štěpán Rak, David Tanenbaum and Grant Gustafson. At present, she is a teacher at the Karol Szymanowski State Secondary Music School in Katowice and Art Director of the International Guitar Festival in Modra, Slovakia. Along with her husband, Franciszek, she performs in the guitar duet, Silesian Guitar Octet as well as organizes the Żory Guitar Festival and runs the MODRAN Artistic Agency.

Franciszek Wieczorek

Franciszek Wieczorek (Ph.D.) - graduated from the Academy of Music in Katowice in 1990. In the years 1990 - 2005 he was an academic lecturer at this Academy. He is a laureate of the 2nd Award in the Composer - Interpretative Competition in Tychy (the Silesian Guitar Autumn '88). He participated in master courses by Ichiro Suzuki, Vladimir Mikulka and Grant Gustafson. At present he is a teacher at the Karol Szymanowski State Secondary Music School in Katowice and the State Music School in Rybnik.

Soren Boedker Madsen (Denmark)

Soren Boedker Madsen was born in Denmark,1956. He studied the classical guitar with Maria Kämmerling and Leif Christensen at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, where he received his diploma in 1982.
He continued his studies in the soloist class at Musik-Akademie der Stadt Basel, and later in Konrad Ragossnig´s concert class at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna.
Here he was awarded a unanimous vote of excellence at his final examination.

Hesperia Guitar Ensemble

The "Hesperia Guitar Ensemble" was founded in 2007 and consisted of a group of young guitarists under the guidance of Frangoulis Karagiannopoulos in the Municipal Conservatory of Ymittos.

Today, the addition of new members from the National Conservatory’s departments of Ymittos and Piraeus has turned the Hesperia Guitar Ensemble into an open and flexible musical ensemble, well established as a musical group designed to perform original and transcripted works for guitar ensemble.

Konstantinos Kirolytis - Dionyssia Tronti

Konstantinos Kirolytis

Konstantinos is considered a highly talented guitarist of the younger Greek guitarists’ generation. In 2000 he received his diploma with honours from George’s Mavroedes class. Alongside his studies in guitar he studied at counterpoint class of John Christofilos at the "Attic Conservatory” from where he graduated with Distinction in June 2002. He has actively participated in master classes under the supervision of Aniello Desiderio, Carlo Domeniconi, Zoran Dukic, Carlo Molina, Nikita Koshkin, Pablo Markez, Jorge Morel.

Frangoulis Karagiannopoulos

He was born in Athens in 1977. He studied guitar under N. Hadjieleftheriou and obtained his Diploma from the "National Conservatory" of Athens with the grade of "Unanimous Excellence and 1st Prize".

He also studied Upper Music Theory with Professor A. Nastos at the Municipal Conservatory of Moschato. He continued his studies in Composition under the Professor F. Tsalachouris at the Kodali Conservatory, where he graduated with "Unanimous Excellence".

Diamantis Diamantidis

Diamantis Diamantidis is active in Greek songwriting and live performances for the last 20 years or so. However, his passion for the American songwriting tradition begun in 2006, when -while maintaining the Greek lyrics in his songs- he formed the multi-membered folk soul rock ensemble of Mitera Falaina Tifli (Mother Whale Blind), along with 10 other great guys and girls.

Kostas Manolkidis

He was born in 1994 in Athens and began studying the classical guitar with Letta Vassileiou in 2002 who taught him in a very young age that music is history, emotions, moments, but first of all it is a way of understanding and making peace with life.
While in college he stopped working on the instrument for a few years but after his entrance to the university he decided to aim at finishing his studies in music.

Letta Vasileiou (Greece)

Letta Vasileiou  was born in Athens. She studied the guitar under the guitarist and composer Notis Mavroudis and was awarded her Degree and Diploma with honors and distinctions. She also studied music theory, piano and horn. She has attended various master classes given by greek and foreign performers. At present, she teaches at the “Technotropia” conservatory and at the “Ecole Hellinoelvetique”.

She is also the author of many children’s books as she has been drawn towards writing since early youth.

Angelos Nikolopoulos

Born in Athens, he studied guitar with Charalabos Ekmektsoglou and Andreas Paleologos and economics at the National University of Athens. He did postgraduate musical studies in Spain, Belgium, France and Hungary.

Chamber music and collaborating the guitar with other instruments in various music styles, from Renaissance to contemporary improvisation and stimulating composers to write new works, are characteristics of his music activity. He was a founding member of the ensembles, "Strings & Stones" (Guitar-Lute, Stones-Percussion), "Arte a Tre" (Flute - Violin - Guitar) and "Duo Epigonos" (Flute-Guitar).

His assets include 4 cds, recordings for radio and television, concerts in various countries and participations in festivals and international competitions juries.  The long involvement with teaching gave as fruit a series of books for learning the guitar to small children under the title "Kitharozografies" (www.kitharozografies.gr).
