Diamantis Diamantidis

Diamantis Diamantidis is active in Greek songwriting and live performances for the last 20 years or so. However, his passion for the American songwriting tradition begun in 2006, when -while maintaining the Greek lyrics in his songs- he formed the multi-membered folk soul rock ensemble of Mitera Falaina Tifli (Mother Whale Blind), along with 10 other great guys and girls.

Having released two albums since then, these days the band is in hiatus, while Diamantis is exploring a bit more solely the songwriting of Bruce Springsteen (having formed already since 2016, the first Greek Tribute Band of Springsteen songs, the band Radio Nowhere), as well as of Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Ben Harper, Joan Baez, Johnny Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Dave Matthews and Jon Butler, among others. At the same time, he is working on his solo debut album, by trying to get in the shoes of all the above important songwriters, of Vaggelis Germanos and his debut “Barakia” (“Cozy Bars”), Dimos Moutsis and his late ’70s-early ’80s songwriting, as well as the profound case of Thanassis Papakonstantinou. All these light the way for the new songs.

In his acoustic set, he mainly presents selected tracks for the American songwriting tradition, as well as some of his own songs, older, newer and unreleased.
