"Markos Vamvakaris meets traditional Argentinian tango"

The love for the music of Argentina and Argentina in general, did Kostas Vlachopoulos (chromatic harmonica) to form, a little before the end of 2010, an acoustic duo of Argentinian Tango with his friend and musical partner Lambros Karkanopoulos (guitar) presenting compositions from early last century until the interwar time, adding some touches of younger Argentinean composers.

Piratas de la guitarra

The guitar ensemble Piratas de la guitarra created in October 2015 under the direction and teaching of  guitarist Letta Vasileiou.

Formed by students of all ages, while the works are transcriptions from the talented young guitarist Kostas Manolkidis.

The newly ensemble gain many experiences interpreting foreign and Greek composers, most preferably in film music.

Fabio Barbagallo

He studied guitar with Fabio Maida and he graduated from Liceo Musicale 'Vincenzo Bellini' - Caltanissetta (Sicily).
He continued his studies specializing in guitar with the following Maestri: Alirio Diaz, Alvaro Company, Vladimir Mikulka, Angelo Gilardino, Nuccio D’Angelo.

He has been awarded with various music prices at many Italian competitions in the cities of Lodi, Genova, Alassio, Matera, Lamezia Terme.
He has given concerts as a soloist and as member of various chamber ensembles in 17 Countries in the World: Italy, Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Cyprus, Kosovo, England, Czech Republic, Portugal, Swedish, Denmark, Germany, Venezuela, U.S.A., Thailand.

Vassilis Kanaras

Vassilis Kanaras was born in the village of Karpochori, Karditsa in 1959.
He studied guitar under Gerassimos Miliaressis, Giannis Hliopoulos, Vangelis Boudounis, Vangelis Assimakopoulos, Costas Cotsiolis (Guitar Diploma) theory under Giorgos Sioras (Harmony Diploma).


He has participated in numerous seminars with such teachers as Jesus Castro-Balbi, Hubert Kappel, Leo Brouwer, Wolfgang Lendle, Roberto Aussel, Abel Carlevaro, Thomas Muller Pering.
Kanaras has performed solo recitals and has participated in various chamber music groups in many concerts in Greece and abroad.

Letta Vasileiou (Greece)

Letta Vasileiou  was born in Athens. She studied the guitar under the guitarist and composer Notis Mavroudis and was awarded her Degree and Diploma with honors and distinctions. She also studied music theory, piano and horn. She has attended various master classes given by greek and foreign performers. At present, she teaches at the “Technotropia” conservatory and at the “Ecole Hellinoelvetique”.

She is also the author of many children’s books as she has been drawn towards writing since early youth.

Virginia Amariotaki

Born in Heraklion, Crete, Virginia Amariotaki studied at the “Synchrono Conservatory of Crete”, showing at a very early age her exceptional talent in music and classical guitar particularly.

Her keen interest and guitar skills were later identified by the famous guitar duo Evangelos & Liza that immediately accepted Virginia as one of their students at the “Athenaeum” Conservatory of Athens where Virginia continued and completed her musical studies with honours on graduating.

Vassilis Kanellopoulos

Vassilis Kanellopoulos was born in Athens in 1994, his origins are from Messinia, Peloponnese.  With his parents  encouragement he started taking guitar lessons at a very early age and completed his studies at the Municipal Conservatory of Petroupoli  under the guidance of professor Vassilis Kanaras (Diploma A straight and 1st prize).  He has received 16 awards in national competitions and has attended seminars by Evangelos Assimakopoulos, Lisa Zoe, Notis Mavroudis etc. He has appeared as soloist guitarist nationwide in major concert halls.

Angelos Efstratiou

Angelos Efstratiou was born in Syros on December 26th 1993.

Having completed his high school course, In 2011 he is admitted in the Darius Milhaud Conservatory in Aix-en-Provence, France and the very next year he is enrolled on the musicology department of the Aix-Marseille University.
In 2016 he receives his degree in classical guitar with a score of 18/20 accompanied by the congratulations of the jury.
During the same year he obtains his bachelor’s in musicology.

Angelos Nikolopoulos

Born in Athens, he studied guitar with Charalabos Ekmektsoglou and Andreas Paleologos and economics at the National University of Athens. He did postgraduate musical studies in Spain, Belgium, France and Hungary.

Chamber music and collaborating the guitar with other instruments in various music styles, from Renaissance to contemporary improvisation and stimulating composers to write new works, are characteristics of his music activity. He was a founding member of the ensembles, "Strings & Stones" (Guitar-Lute, Stones-Percussion), "Arte a Tre" (Flute - Violin - Guitar) and "Duo Epigonos" (Flute-Guitar).

His assets include 4 cds, recordings for radio and television, concerts in various countries and participations in festivals and international competitions juries.  The long involvement with teaching gave as fruit a series of books for learning the guitar to small children under the title "Kitharozografies" (www.kitharozografies.gr).
