Jiarui An (China)

At the age of 10, he studied classical guitar under the famous guitar educator Mr. Jianwei Xu and in 2014, he was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music middle school (CCOM) where he studied under the lecturer of classical guitar at the CCOM , the famous guitarist Mr. Tuo Xu and was also trained and guided by Prof. Zhi Chen, the founding father of the classical guitar in China.
In 2019, he was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music orchestral department of classical guitar major . In 2023, he received his master’s degree from the University of Music and performing arts Munich and studied with Prof. Franz Halasz, the winner of the Latin Grammy Award for Best Classical Album, and was awarded the German State Scholarship (Deutschlandstipendium) in October, 2024.
In 2012, he won the first place in the Junior Classical Guitar Group and the first place in the Chamber music Open category of the 11th China (Zhuhai) Guitar Competition. In 2017 he won the second place in the open group of China (Zhenjiang) Guitar Competition. In 2018 won the first place in the youth group and the third place in the open group of the 3rd Altamira Hong Kong International Guitar Competition. In November 2019 he won the third place in the highest category of the 5th Sanremo International Guitar Competition in Italy. In December 2021 won the first place in the open category of Thailand International Guitar Competition. In December 2021 Awarded 1st place in the 22-25 year old category at the International Music Competition (IMMC) in Moscow, Russia. In April 2023 won the Gold Medal of the Global Genius Music Competition (GGMC) in the category of 22 years old and above (all instruments). In July 2024, he won the First Prize in the Open Category of the 30th Hermoupolis International Guitar Competition (Greece). In 2025, he won the third place in the open category of the 25th COMARCA EL CONDADO International Guitar Competition in Spain as well as the Best Interpretation Prize of the Andalusian piece.

In 2016, he was invited to perform at the 5th Beijing Youth Arts Festival; in 2018, he was invited to participate in the Novosibirsk International Guitar Festival in Russia; in 2019, he was invited to perform in the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra’s “Song of the Night” Mahler’s “Symphony No. 7 in E Minor” at the Hangzhou Grand Theater, which received a warm response.
In 2022, he was invited to participate in the Shenzhen Bay Guitar Art Week and Classical Guitar Invitational Competition as a guest performer and a judge of the competition. During the school period, he was instructed by Hubert Kappel, the godfather of German guitar, Aniello Desiderio, the Italian guitar master, David Tanenbaum, professor of guitar at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Rene Izquierdo, professor at the University of Wisconsin, and Steve Goss, the famous guitar composer, etc., and he was unanimously praised by the masters.
