Runar Kjeldsberg

Classical guitarist Runar Kjeldsberg has, as the first guitarist in the World, recorded the complete known solo works by the guitarist, composer and Soldier in the Napoleon army, François de Fossa (1775-1849). A major project that took over 5 years to complete and resulted in over 4 hours of recorded guitar music. The project was supported by the Norwegian state Arts fund.

Holder of a Master of Performing Arts diploma, Kjeldsberg studied under Carlo Marchione, Alexis Muzurakis, Gerard Abiton and Jan Erik Pettersen. During his studies Runar Kjeldsberg received several prizes in international competitions.

Runar Kjeldsberg has toured the world (from the west coast of Canada to New Zealand in the east) both as a soloist and as a chambermusician. Current chambermusic projects includes Schuberts “Die Schöne Müllerin” in collaboration with Tom Guthrie, Bjarte Eike and Barokksolistene (album to be released November 23)

Runar Kjeldsberg has an ongoing collaboration with the luthier Leonardo Michelin Salomon who did a fellowship on early romantic Guitars. This resulted in a new and unique Classical Guitar design.
