Soren Boedker Madsen (Denmark)

Soren Boedker Madsen was born in Denmark,1956. He studied the classical guitar with Maria Kämmerling and Leif Christensen at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, where he received his diploma in 1982.
He continued his studies in the soloist class at Musik-Akademie der Stadt Basel, and later in Konrad Ragossnig´s concert class at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna.
Here he was awarded a unanimous vote of excellence at his final examination.

Soren Boedker Madsen has supplemented his education with study periods at the Music Conservatory in Prague under Stepan Rak, and participated in master classes conducted by Oscar Ghiglia, John Williams, and Karl Scheit. In 1986 he won the first prize at the International Kutna Hora guitar competition in Czechoslovakia in which more than 100 guitarists participated.

As a soloist and a member of the Danish Guitar Duo and Duo Paganini and The Blackbirds (Danish Beatles performance). Soren Boedker Madsen has recorded several CDs and DVDs, and performed in an extensive number of concerts both at home and abroad. Since 1981 he has been a teacher at Kolding Musikskole, and has taught at the guitar and musical education at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus. During the late 1990s he co-authored a series of educational volumes entitled Spil Guitar 1-3 and Sologuitar.
