Vaggelis Tountas is an award-winning composer and musician. Born in Athens and raised on the island of Kea, he developed a love for music at an early age. He studied classical guitar and violin, followed by music theory lessons. He graduated from the Hellenic Conservatory of Music and Arts completing his classical guitar studies with Angelos Nikopoulos and his advanced theory music studies with Irini Arxavli. As a child, he was captivated by Greek folk music and world/ethnic music and was inspired to become a violin soloist.
He continued with numerous participations in music recordings and solo/group performances, all around Greece and abroad. In 2002, he got more involved into music production, arrangement, and music technology. Apart from composing a great number of songs for various artists and music genres, his true passion is composing orchestral music for theatre, TV series, and commercial spots, but mostly short and feature films, making the arrangement and the production as well.
He has composed, among others, the original score for the movies and Tv Series such as

Solo Music Performance is an interactive music project that travels through a wide range of musical genres. Starting with a lounge mood and ending in dance ethnic atmospheres, Vaggelis Tountas records sounds and melodies on the spot that are continuously reproduced (livelooping) while with the various effects he uses on the violin, guitar, keyboards and percussion, he connects, accompanied by vocals, the traditional sound of the violin with unpredictable musical genres and styles. Vaggelis Tounta’s violin performance combined with the pre-recorded material creates a delightful happening, a plethora of sounds and musical textures with familiar sounds from the world of cinema, but also melodies of his own, as well as covers of well-known songs from the pop , jazz, rock, and world music scene.
