Letta Vasileiou was born in Athens. She studied guitar with guitarist and composer Notis Mavroudis and received her degree and diploma with honors and distinctions. She is also a graduate of the Faculty of Humanities of the Department of European Culture of the Hellenic Open University. She has attended lessons with Greek and foreign soloists, has given concerts and personal recitals and has collaborated with other instruments in concerts and chamber music festivals in various cities of Greece. She worked in primary private education in well-known schools and also in well-known musical institutions in Athens.
Today she is a guitar teacher at the Kodaly Conservatory where she has created a group of young talented guitarists who, through lessons, seminars, games, concerts and competitions, have won not only national awards, but also creative expression, noble starches and solidarity through the art of the guitar.
In 2015 she created the guitar ensemble Piratas de la guitarra which was presented at guitar festivals and concerts in Greece and was honored with the 3rd Chamber Music Prize in 2019 at the Paleo Faliro guitar competition.
She is also a writer with an intense artistic and publishing career. To date, he has published 13 children’s books and 3 adult books by Minoas, Kedros, Papadopoulos, Ellinika Grammata, Pnoe and 24 Grammata, as well as 3 children’s CDs with songs by the Acroasis record company.
She has made the Greek translation of the libretto of the Czech opera Brudibar by Krása and Hoffmeister, which was released on CD by the Acroasis record company with the participation of the ERT youth orchestra and the children’s choir of the Kodaly Conservatory, which was performed in various cities in Greece by music schools in the country and by the Corfu Chamber Opera.
Her children’s musical “Mimis the Patousa” was honored with 3rd prize in the 39th Literary Competition of the Panhellenic Union of Writers in the theatrical work category and 3rd prize in the 2nd Panhellenic competition for a debut playwright at the amateur theater festival of the municipality of Monemvasia, while her fairy tale “Children of the Sea” was honored with 1st prize in the 1st Literary Competition of the Agia Paraskevi Municipal Library – Alekos Kontopoulos Museum.
