Petros Ristas

He was born in Veria. He studied advanced theory, Ode, Harmony, Counterpoint, Classical guitar, Fugue-Orchestration, Orchestration, Composition and Choir Conducting, with the professors composers-maestros V. DELLIOS, SP. RAUFTOPOULOS M. TRAVLOS, MARIA EMMA MELIGOPOULOU VAS BOULOUSI and the guitar professors Char. EKMEKTSOGLOU, G. NIKOLOPOULOS.
In parallel with his classical studies, he studied Jazz piano – composition with the pianist M. ALEXIOU. He attended orchestra conducting seminars with renowned conductors Il. Voudouris and J. CONTA as well as choir conducting seminars. He has composed a series of works for classical orchestra as well as works for small orchestral ensembles.

In recent years he has been writing music and songs for musical theater performances. Some of them in “Moonlight”, “Simigdalenios” and “Egoistis Gigantas” as well as the music for the mini-opera by Evt. Varlamis for Alexander the Great. He has conducted orchestral ensembles as well as orchestrated a series of works of Greek and foreign music. Orchestrator and conductor in the tribute to Manolis Mitsias with the singer himself as soloist. with the collaboration of musicians from the State Orchestra of Greek Music of S. XARCHAKOS, in the summer of 2011, in the summer grove of Veria. Orchestrator and conductor in the tribute to S. Xarchakos at the Veria Arts Center. He has also collaborated with renowned soloists in concerts mainly at the Veria Concert Hall, Ch. Nikolopoulos, St. Dionysiou. Zoi Papadopoulos, N. Ziogalas, G. Andreatos and others. His works have been played in many cities in Greece as well as at the Athens Concert Hall. He is artistic director and teaches classical guitar and advanced theory at the Municipal Conservatory of Veria, Founder and Conductor of the orchestral guitar ensemble Artguitaristas.

He has taught as a professor of theory-choir and classical guitar at the music schools of Katerini – Serres – Amyntaio – Siatista – Ptolemaida, He is artistic director at the Aristotle Conservatory and teaches as a professor of advanced theory and classical guitar. Founder and conductor of the vocal-instrumental ensemble Monogramma. He participates in Trio Anima with participation in many concert projects.
